Acer is reportedly close to launching four more smartphones — one with Google’s Android OS, and the others based on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile.
At this point, little is known about most of these models. The standout is the Acer A1, which will be this company’s first Android-based model. It’s supposedly scheduled for release in September.
The three Windows Mobile models will be named the Acer F1 C1/E1, and L1. The F1 will be based on the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, and have a tablet shape with 3.8-inch touchscreen, 5 MPx camera, mobile broadband, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and much more.
What the designs and features for the other two will be not yet been revealed. The only reason anything at all is known about them is leaks from Taiwan-based device makers Compal Communications and Inventec Appliances.
Acer is making a big push into the high-end phone market, and launched a number models running Microsoft’s mobile operating system earlier this year.
