“Better late than never” appears to the motto of HTC, as the company confirmed that the long delayed Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for the HTC ThunderBolt is still on its way.
The news came from one of HTC’s official tweet handles (@HTCUSA) in a response to a consumer’s inquiry about the delayed update; HTC responded: “ICS will be here soon. Thanks for your continued patience!”
Despite the lack of information, it is refreshing to hear that HTC and Verizon still plan to release the OS update, even though its months behind schedule. The HTC ThunderBolt update was originally announced back in March of 2012 and was set to release this August.
HTC and Verizon have yet to explain why the update has been delayed so drastically, though its likely due to the two companies not being satisfied with the performance of the OS update.
HTC has not provided an expected deadline for the update; it could show up next week or at the end of next month, but at least we know it is still on the way.
