HTC Evo LTE Android 4.1.1 UpdateSprint’s HTC Evo 4G LTE has become the latest smartphone to receive an Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean) update. Sprint was the first U.S. carrier to offer the Android 4.1.1 update on the Samsung Galaxy S III, and the carrier is at it again, as the EVO 4G LTE is the first HTC device in the States to receive the official Android 4.1.1 update.

In addition to an updated version of Google’s operating system, the update from HTC also delivers HTC Sense 4+; which boasts improved camera capabilities including Auto Portrait, Sightseeing Mode, and the ability to display photos and videos according to where they were taken. Consumers will also receive the new tap-and-go function, which allows users to connect the HTC EVO 4GLTE to select Beats Audio speakers when tapped together.

The update is currently available to Sprint users with an HTC Evo 4G LTE, but at present it has to be installed manually. Doing so is simple: just go to Settings > System Updates > HTC software update > Check now.

Sprint has noted that a network push will begin to rollout within the next few weeks. More information on how to upgrade this HTC smartphone can be found on Sprint’s website
