Google Android Dev Phone 1Google is offering the Android Dev Phone 1, which is a SIM-unlocked version of the G1.

As its name suggests, this device is being released to allow developers to create Android applications, and will ship with an bootloader that will allow the user to flash unsigned custom Android builds.

As such, it might not be a good choice for the average user, but is perfect for hobbyists who enjoy trying out custom ROMs.

It sells for $400, plus purchasing it requires signing up as an Android developer, which costs an additional $25.

The G1 is currently on sale only in the U.S. and the U.K., but the Android Dev Phone 1 will be available in 18 countries in N. America, Europe, and the Asia/Pacific region.
