Apple may have more than one new iPhone in its arsenal before the year is out. According to a report from Reuters, Apple is currently working on two new iPhone models that are set to debut later this year, including the iPhone 5S and the previously-rumored cheaper iPhone model.
Though this may not come as the most shocking piece of news, as mentions of both phones have been made before, the report confirmed a couple of new pieces of information. The iPhone 5S will reportedly come equipped with a fingerprint scanner, while the cheaper iPhone model will be offered in a variety of colors. Reports indicate that Apple will offer the new cheaper iPhone model in a number of different colors in hopes of differentiating it from its more expensive handsets, which are only offered in traditional black and white. Specifics about the colors, however, were not provided.
The cheaper model will supposedly target a $100 retail price, but no news yet on the pricing of the iPhone 5S. Both models are expected to launch later this year, though Reuters claims that Apple’s new cheaper model could be delayed until next year.
