Almost out of nowhere Apple revealed its newest iteration of the iPod Touch on Thursday. Instead of offering impressive new specs, the new iPod Touch appears to be a strip minimalistic version of the MP3 device.
The dimensions of the device are identical to its predecessor, and the device will still offer a 4-inch Retina display, and the same dual-core A5 processor. The new iPod Touch will offer a front-facing FaceTime HD camera, but the device will not have a rear-facing camera. Storage capacity has also been reduced to 16GB, while previous models typically offered 32 or 64GB options.
While the new iPod Touch offers reduced specs, it will also come at a lower price point. The new iPod Touch is available in silver only for $230 and can be purchased from Apple’s online store, Apple store locations, or other select retailers.
