ASUS is going to release the MyPal A716 in the U.S. in the very near future. This Pocket PC has multiple forms of wireless networking and dual memory-card slots.
The A716 will run Windows Mobile 2003 on a 400 MHz XScale PXA255 processor. It will have 64MB of RAM, of which 58 MB is available to the user. It will include 64 MB of ROM.
It will be the first model from ASUS to offer both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless networking. This will allow users to connect to the Internet while at their home or office through a Wi-Fi access point, and connect through a Bluetooth-enabled phone when they are out and about.
This model will have a 3.5-inch transflective screen at the Pocket PC-standard resolution of 240 by 320 pixels. In addition, the A716 will include an SD/MMC slot and a CompactFlash slot.
This handheld will be 5.3 inches long, 3.0 inches wide, and 0.7 inches thick. It will weigh 6.2 ounces.
The MyPal A716 is expected to be available from the PROportable web site before the end of this year. The cost will be $499 with free shipping as well as a copy of the game Anthelion.
