The long awaited replacement for the XV6700 is finally available; Verizon wireless is now offering the XV6800, a Windows Mobile 6 Professional smartphone with Wi-Fi, EV-DO, and a keyboard.
It uses an HTC design most people should be familiar with: a tablet shapewith with a sliding QWERTY keyboard that can be hidden behind its QVGA screen.
The XV6800 runs the latest version of Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating system, which includesall the softwareone would expect in a high-end smartphone, including support for synchronizing with Exchange Server, Internet Explorer Mobile, and the ability to edit Microsoft Office documents.
This CDMA device can connect to Verizon’s 3G BroadbandAccess network, which uses EV-DO Rev. 0. Customers who sign up for BroadbandAccess Connect can use the XV6800 as a high-speed wireless modem for their laptop.
In addition, this model has Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0 for mono and stereo headsets,
Pricing and Availability
The XV6800 is availablenow online and through Verizon’s business channels. It will be available in Verizon Stores on December 5.
