AT&T has just become the third U.S. carrier to offer the Samsung Galaxy S III. This powerful Android device is on its way to all of the top U.S. carriers.
As is typical for a high-end model, it features a touchscreen that’s well above average in size: 4.8-inch and 1280 x 720 (720p). It also sports an 8 megapixel main camera and a 1.9MP camera on its front.
The Galaxy S III runs Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 2GB of RAM. Samsung has added an array of extra software features to this model, on top of the standard suite of communication and productivity applications that come with Google’s operating system.
The amount of internal storage in this smartphone depends on the price: a 16GB version is $200 with a two-year contract, while the 32GB one is $250.
When it comes to wireless capabilities, this device is well supplied. It includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS. It also has a 2100mAh swappable battery.
This product can be found on AT&T’s website and in its retail stores. It is already available from T-Mobile and Sprint. Verizon is expected to introduce its version next week.
