AT&T customers anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Note II on the carrier’s network can breathe a sigh of relief, for the phablet is now available for pre-order from the nation’s second largest wireless carrier.

Samsung Galaxy Note IIWhile the device won’t hit shelves until Nov. 9, customers clamoring to get a hold of Samsung’s follow-up to last year’s surprise hit can reserve themselves a unit on AT&T’s website. The Android 4.1-powered handset, which will run on the carrier’s 4G LTE network, is priced at $300 with a two-year contract.

With T-Mobile launching the 5.5-inch device yesterday for $70 more than its competitors, and Sprint making its iteration available today, AT&T is a little late to the game. Yet, Verizon customers will have to wait the longest, as Big Red started taking pre-orders today, but won’t start shipping Sammy’s latest gadget until Nov. 27.

Bigger and Better

Samsung’s Galaxy Note II features a slew of improvements compared to its predecessor, which AT&T is currently selling for $200 with a two-year contract, including a higher screen resolution of 1280 x 720. Packing a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, which Brighthand  found to be incredibly swift and powerful in our review of the Note II, the tabletphone houses a 3100 mAh battery and dual cameras, with an 8-megapixel rear- and 1.9-megapixel front-facing shooters.

The newest iteration will ship with 16GB of built-in storage, though users can add more space via a microSD card. AT&T’s version will be able to access this carrier’s 4G LTE network.

While the first Note was initially met with criticism for its large screen size, it soon found a following among consumers looking for a smartphone with a tablet-worthy display. With Samsung hyping the second-generation Note as even better than before, it remains to be seen if the device will be as popular as the original.
