Those who are eagerly anticipating the LG Thrill 4G can now reserve this upcoming 3D Android smartphone at a Radio Shack store. AT&T is expected to release this cutting-edge device early next month.
This model will be AT&T’s first with a “glasses free” 3D display. It’s also going to sport a 3D camera.
According to this retailer, this LG model is going to sell for a surprisingly low price given its featureset: $80 with a two-year contract. It will cost $550 without a contract.
LG Thrill 4G Preview
This smartphone will be a version of the LG Optimus 3D, which was released in Europe earlier this year.
Set in its simple bar shape will be a 4.3-inch, WVGA (800 x 480) Touchscreen that is going to offer glasses-free 3D. On the back will be a pair of 5-megapixel cameras for shooting 3D images, 720p 3D video, or 1080p video when recording in 2D.
The Thrill 4G is going to run Google Android OS 2.2 on a 1GHz dual-core, dual-channel processor from TI. LG is promising that this model will offer better performance than other 1GHz multi-core chips, especially when playing games or watching video.
The LG Thrill 4G will come with 16GB of storage capacity — 8GB onboard plus an 8GB microSD card. It will be able to play video back in high definition through its HDMI-out port, or stream content wirelessly through DLNA technology.
This model will be able to connect to AT&T’s HSPA+ cellular network. It will also have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
