HP has posted on its web site a software update that fixes a couple of small bugs in the iPaq hx4700 series.
Update: For some reason, this software update has been removed from HP’s web site.
According to HP, this update will ensure that no speaker damage results from third-party audio applications that generate a very high-volume audio signal.
Also, it fixes a bug that causes the Microphone Automatic Gain Control (AGC) setting to not be saved after a power cycle.
This is not a ROM update, so installing it won’t erase everything on the device.
It is for all devices in the hx4700 series.
Thanks to Larry for the tip.
