Automatically Activate Wi-Fi with WifiLocations

by Reads (3,608)

WiFiLocations is an application that enables the automatic starting of the Wi-Fi radio in Windows Mobile devices based on cell-ID positioning. Currently in version .6, it supports the following features:

  • Specify locations Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth will be activated automatically
  • Specify locations where the ringer should be turned off or to vibrate
  • Run or close specified program by location
  • Custom names for cell-IDs
  • Autostart on reboot

WiFiLocations is only compatible with GSM-based Windows Mobile devices at this time. CDMA models use a different, and non-publicized, method for coding the cell-ID that is read by this application.

This is a free application and can be downloaded via th Wi-FiLocations thread at XDA-Developers. The developer does accept donations for his work.
