Details of the rumored BlackBerry A10 handset have remained scarce, but on Tuesday, the picture became noticeably clearer as a reported leak surfaced via CrackBerry detailing the specs of the upcoming device.
Forum member nereuszeer posted the presentational slide showing off what very well may be BlackBerry’s next flagship device and the company’s best chance at a turnaround given the poor sales of the Z10. If the information turns out to be accurate, then the A10 will sport a number of minor upgrades from the BlackBerry Z10 including a 5-inch 720p OLED display.
The image also indicates that the A10 will offer a larger 2,800 mAh battery, sport a more powerful 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and will run on BlackBerry 10.2 out of the box. It is worth noting, however, that the leak dates back to May 23 of this year, meaning that there’s a solid chance that BlackBerry could have changed the A10’s hardware since then.
The leaked image also notes that the Verizon variant will have a slightly larger width than the base model (9.7mm as opposed to 9.4mm). The documentation doesn’t specify as to why the Verizon model would have a thicker build, though it hints that the carrier could possibly get its hands on a unique variant of the A10.
