Blue Nomad has released the Nomad Security Suite, a collection of security related applications for Palm OS handhelds and smartphones.
This includes RemoveIt, which allows users to identify programs taking up hidden space on their devices and provides an audit trail of files and preferences created by running programs.
Also included is BackupBuddyVFS Professional, which creates secure device backups to external memory cards.
The third component is SwordFish, which allows users to securely store personal information such as credit card numbers, bank account numbers, and passwords.
But Wait, There’s More
Blue Nomad has also released the Nomad Security Suite Plus, which includes the above applications as well as BackupBuddy for Windows/Mac OS X.
This maintains a complete history of any given device’s files and settings so that users can restore individual files or their entire device to any previous point in time with the click of a button.
BackupBuddy for Mac OS X contains all the features present in its Windows counterpart and works both with the Missing Sync from MarkSpace, as well as with the standard HotSync software as supplied by PalmOne.
“We are very excited by our release of the Nomad Security Suite,” says Dr. Alexis S. Hinds, CEO of Nomad. “It is the first comprehensive data security solution available for Palm Powered devices. As users continue to store more and more data on their handhelds and smartphones, they need to feel confident that they can securely manage the data present on their device and have access to comprehensive backups should the need arise.”
Pricing and Availability
The Nomad Security Suite is available now from Blue Nomad’s web site for $29.95.
Customers may also purchase the Nomad Security Suite Plus for $39.95, which includes a license for BackupBuddy 2 Professional for Windows or Mac OS X.
