ACT!, the contact manager, already HotSyncs with the Palm OS but now the developers are getting serious about handhelds. ACT! for Palm OS will be released soon and is already available for pre-order. In addition, ACT! Link for Pocket PC is now in beta. Thanks to Pocket PC Thoughts for the tip.

Mobile Wizardry is looking for feedback on whether to release a version of DooM for Palm. Technically, it would be a fairly easy to do as it would be a custom level pack within the Deity3D engine. The challenge would be getting permission from iD software.

LandWare has released Pocket Quicken 2.03 for Palm OS, which adds Palm OS 5 support.

PDA Skins is now offering the Horizontal Organizer, which attaches to a belt and offers pockets to hold a handheld and a cellphone. It sells for $35.

Pumatech and Oracle have announced the release of Intellisync for Oracle, which will synchronize the Web-based Oracle E-Business Suite Calendar with Microsoft Outlook and Palm OS handhelds.

Michael Capellas, the former CEO of Compaq Computer, is leaving Hewlett-Packard. Rumor has it he is going to become the CEO of WorldCom.
