Brighthand is not going to do anything for April Fools Day. Nothing being reported in this or any other article is a trick. However, readers should be on the lookout for hoaxes on other sites.

A developer is claiming on ClieSource that he has created a beta of a driver that allows Sony’s NX series and NZ90 to use CompactFlash memory cards. At this point, it only supports reading from files, not writing to them. People who would like to be part of the beta test should send the developer the manufacturer and size of their CF cards and what Clie model they own. There is a $15 charge for the beta drivers, with free upgrades for life.

Mobile Conquest is now offering repair service for several iPAQ models.

The new RhinoSkin Aluminum HardCase for the Dell Axim X5 is now available. This allows access to the jog wheel, SD and CF cards, speaker, and synch cable and power connectors. It sells for $35.

SoftMaker of Germany has released an updated version of TextMaker, the word processor for Pocket PC. This adds support for the Dell Folding Keyboard and for the Fitaly keyboard utility. It also features improved Microsoft Word and HTML filters and various additional bug fixes. It is free to all registered users of the app. The full app sells for $70.

Michelin is now offering a free Palm Zire to people who purchase any four new Michelin brand light truck/SUV or passenger car tires. This offer is good from March 30 through May 10.

ViewSonic is now selling the V35 Pocket PC in the U.K. It costs £250.

The new president and chief operating officer of the U.S. subsidiary of Sony Electronics is Hideki Komiyama. Fujio Nishida, who previously held this position, takes over as chief marketing officer at the parent company.
