RepliGo enhanced for Pocket PC
Cerience Corporation has announced that RepliGo 1.1 for Pocket PC devices is now available. RepliGo 1.1 adds the ability to view documents in landscape mode, print to dozens of HP printers wirelessly, and send files via e-mail. Users can also return to their previous position in a document, and a new page-switching tool speeds up navigation in long documents.
RepliGo 1.1 is priced at $29.95, with upgrades free to registered users. A fully functional 14-day trial is available from Cerience.com.

VLI’s VoIP app for the Tungsten C release date slips
When VLI announced that it was developing an application that would allow the Wi-Fi-enabled Tungsten C to wirelessly make phone calls over the Internet, the company said gPhone would be released in June. The VLI’s product decription for this app now says it will be commercially available in July.

Mitac launches Microsoft Smartphone
Mitac International has launched its first smartphone, the Mio 8380 in Taiwan. The Mio 8380 features the Smartphone 2002 operating system with a 200 MHz XScale processor. It support GPRS tri-band, so it will work in many markets worldwide. In addition to the expected Smartphone applications, the Mio 8380 includes a digital camera in a clamshell-style mobile phone with a 2.2-inch, 65,000-color transflective TFT LCD screen.
Mitac said it would launch its second smartphone at the end of the third quarter and a third model possibly by the end of the fourth quarter of 2003. In addition to Microsoft’s software platform, the company is also evaluating other operating systems.
IS/Complete Develops First Multilanguage Mobile Printer Driver
IS/Complete, in collaboration with Brother International Corp., has developed the first multilanguage mobile printer driver for Palm Powered devices and the new Brother MPrint micro printer. The driver supports six languages, including Japanese, and automatically adapts to the the device’s localized Palm OS version.
The OEM driver is powered by IS/Complete’s IrPrint printing engine. It can print via infrared from the built-in Palm OS applications and from DataViz Documents To Go.
The MPrint micro printer is an ultra lightweight, pocket size wireless printer for use with a Palm Powered handheld. It can print on A7 size ThermaPlus? M paper, self-adhesive labels, and carbon copy paper. The IrPrint OEM driver included with MPrint supports Palm OS versions 3.5 to 4.1 and prints bold, underline, and italic fonts in all six languages. Support for Palm OS 5.0 will be available by the end of June.
Pyxis Consulting announces mWholesaler 4.0 and partnerships with Access Data and Onyx Software
Pyxis Consulting has announced the release of mWholesaler 4.0, which provides wireless access to the tools that mutual fund and annuity sales people need in the field. mWholesaler is available for the Pocket PC and BlackBerry platforms.
At the same time, Pyxis announced an alliance with Access Data Corp., the makers of SalesVision, a web-native analytical data warehouse and reporting solution for the asset management industry. “The combination of mWholesaler and SalesVision addresses two of the major challenges facing sales managers today — accurate management of sales data, and access to producer information in the field,” said Pyxis Managing Director, Todd Christy. “Our solution drives increased sales, and helps sales organizations retain and grow assets.”
Pyxis also announced an alliance with Onyx Software Corp., maker of Onyx Enterprise CRM, which integrates sales, marketing, and service operations throughout an enterprise. mWholesaler extends Onyx’s functionality by providing targeted mutual fund and annuity wholesaling functions in a handheld computer.
