An aluminium hardcase for the iPAQ h2210 will soon be available. It is lined with neoprene as a shock absorber and includes two slots for SD cards. It is expected to be available in the next couple of weeks.

InnoPocket is now taking pre-orders for this at $32.90. Proporta is also taking pre-orders. It is asking $39.95 but will immediately ship a neoprene soft cover to use until the hardcase is available.

This summer, Microsoft Corp. is going to make 60 best-selling eBooks available for free download by users of Microsoft Reader. The 20-week promotion will feature three new titles each week. This week’s selections are Amsterdam by Ian McEwan, The Killing Hour by Lisa Gardner, and The Disowned Self by Nathaniel Branden. These can be found on the Microsoft Reader Web site.

Mobile Office 2003 Now Available

Mobile Systems Inc. is now offering two versions of Mobile Office 2003. The Standard version includes a word processor, database program, and painting tool. The Professional version adds a personal finance assistant.

Memo Plus 4 Released By Hands High Software

Memo Plus 4 has just been released by Hands High Software. This version features encryption, drawings, templates, and alarms, providing several enhancements over the basic Palm OS Memo Pad application. Memo Plus 4 also features the QuickLauncher, which provides a way to launch several different applications from the hardware memo button.

IA Caller ID Now Available for Pocket PC Phone Edition

IA Style has released IA Caller ID for the Pocket PC Phone Edition. The application allows users to assign pictures (JPG, BMP, or GIF) to individual and group entries in the phone’s contacts that will pop up when that person calls. The pictures are also viewable when scrolling through name and telephone information. Additional features include animated templates, the ability to assign contacts to groups and filter by keywords, and direct phone dial. The user can tap on email address to start a new message to that contact, or tap on a URL to a web page.
