BrightBytes™: Qvadis, Axim Case, Mapopolis

At the end of 2002, Aportis Technologies shut down, which marked the end of the AportisDoc ebook reader. Qvadis is offering free registered copies of Express Reader GT to all registered users of AportisDoc Mobile for Palm OS, a $15 value. This offer is good until February 28.

Sena Cases is now taking pre-orders for its leather flipcase for the Dell Axim X5. These are offered in black or brown or one of three 2-tone options. Customers can also choose between the Ultra-Clip and no-clip versions. It is currently offering pre-order special prices. The no-clip one is $30 and Ultra-Clip one is $35. Sena Cases offers models for most Sony handhelds and Palm and iPAQ cases are in development.

Mapopolis is going to release its Palm OS software on CD-ROM. The CD contains maps for all of the US and major Canadian cities. It also includes Mapopolis Major Roads maps which can be used for generating coast-to-coast routes. This CD will be included with all Mapopolis Palm OS GPS bundles and the EMTAC Bluetooth GPS bundle. CD’s will begin shipping January 28 and are available for pre-order now for $50.

Xtreme Snowboarding has just been released by Crimson Fire Entertainment. This is game for the Palm OS gives players just 2 minutes to show off their snowboarding skills, and perform 12 different tricks. It’s available now for $12.

A new Pocket PC oriented website called PDAJunkie.net is giving away five copies of Pocket Hackmaster, the X-Scale overclocking utility.
