Electronic Devices Subjected to Increased Airport Security

Due to concerns regarding the use of electronic devices such as handhelds, cell phones, and laptop computers as small explosives on aircraft, these devices will be undergoing extra security procedures at airport checkpoints. According to Wired, travelers can expect to be asked to turn on every electronic device they carry. In addition, these device are likely to be tested for the presence of trace amounts of explosives.

Palm Releases Bluetooth Patch for Tungsten W

Palm has released a patch enabling Tungsten W owners to use the Palm Bluetooth SD card with their devices. The patch should be used instead of the software that comes packaged with the card. Palm is offering this update as a free download on their web site.

However, there still aren’t drivers to allow this Bluetooth card to be used with Palm’s own OS 5 devices, like the Zire 71 and Tungsten C.

BirdSoft Updates Student Planner For Pocket PC

Just in time for the start of a new school year, The Dog Ate It version 2.02 has been released by BirdSoft. This Pocket PC application is designed to handle every aspect of student organization, from assignments and reading lists to class schedules, grading scales, and information about teachers/professors. The new version features ClearType support and other small changes, and existing users can upgrade free of charge.

Battle to the Death with PalmWars 2

PalmWars PalmWars2 is a real-time strategy game for Palm OS devices. The new version features larger maps, five new units (including minesweepers, hovercraft, and kamikaze bombers), a new swamp terrain type, and the ability to borrow money from the bank in order to get the campaign started. Statistics include battle strength history, strength analysis, army finder, and a resource finder.

A basic version of the application is freeware, while one that allows advanced weaponry is $8. It available for download from the developer’s web site.

ZAPPED! Game for Pocket PC Now Available

ZAPPED! for Pocket PC is an arcade puzzle game featuring 10 levels with four stages each, a variety of backgrounds, and new challenges on each level. Three difficulty levels are also provided, and music and sound effects are included with the game. An optional time and battery display ensures that players don’t waste too much time playing ZAPPED!
