BrightBytes™: TG50, HP Update, O2 XDA, and More

The Sony TG50 that recently received FCC approval now appears in the inventory database of a major electronics retailer. According to this, the device will be released March 23 and sell for $400. The TG50 will include an integrated keyboard and Bluetooth.

Several weeks ago, Hewlett Packard released a ROM update for the h3950 and h3955. This included a variety of bug fixes and small enhancements. However, readers in the Brighthand Forums reported that this update reduced the speed of their handhelds from 400 MHz to 300 MHz. HP has now released a patch that restores these handhelds’ clock speed to 400 MHz. It has also withdrawn the full ROM update until the problem can be fixed.

Moonlight Technologies is now offering a folding keyboard for the O2 XDA/T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone. It sells for $40.

ANIMATORsoft has released a new version of Calc! Plus, its algebraic calculator and unit conversions utility. The new version has been enhanced for high-resolution and high color-depth displays on the Palm OS 5 and Sony devices.

There is a beta of DeveloperOne’s Agenda Fusion 4.9 on the company’s website. It offers a variety of new features, like support for dialing with Bluetooth and infrared modems. The beta requires that a full/registered copy of the application be already installed on the Pocket PC. Click here to download the beta.
