Xela -- Click for larger image The Xela combination case and mini keyboard is now available from iBIZ. This currently works with the Palm m500 series and the i705. A Palm OS 5 driver should be out by the end of this month. The Xela sells for $60.

Buy.com is offering some good deals on memory cards and Lexar is making them better by offering rebates. Buy.com has a Lexar 256 MB SD card for $68. Lexar is offering a $20 rebate, bringing the price down to $48. Also, Buy.com has a Lexar 128 MB Memory Stick for $44. Lexar is offering a $15 rebate on this card, bringing the price down to $29. Because the rebates are being offered by Lexar, they are good on cards bought at other stores, too.

Danger, Inc., maker of the hiptop wireless handheld, is going to use Intel’s Tri-band GSM/GPRS Embedded Module (GEM) in its next model. This will allow the devices to operate in the three major GSM/GPRS frequencies (900, 1800 and 1900 MHz), which means they can be used, and sold, worldwide. The next version of the hiptop, which also offers a color screen, is expected to be available this summer.

Mapopolis.com is now offering the first GPS solution for the Handspring Treo. This includes a Holux GPS receiver and a copy of its mapping application, all for $200.

Dell has posted a patch on its support site that “improves performance of the infrared transfer function when transferring data between an Axim X5 and a Palm OS device.”
