CeBIT 2003 – Sony to Release WiFi Memory Stick (picture)

by Reads (10,001)

I wish I was at CeBit. Sony is showing off their WiFi Memory Stick – the from factor looks very cool. The report says units will be available in Europe come July, no word on pricing or US availability.

Thanks to PDAFrance for the scoop! Here’s the link with a few shots of the Memory Stick Pro, playing a DIVX movie full screen on a television. They also have coverage of other PDAs that will likely never see the US, but it’s always fun to see what’s out there.

WiFi in a memory stick is so huge. This would open up many doors for mid-range devices like the SJ33. My only concern is you lose the ability to have both memory and WiFi in the slot at the same time. Perhaps the new models will come with two Memory Stick slots? We can only hope, but this is definitely an exciting development.
