When you think of the company Gigabyte (assuming you’ve heard of them!) you think motherboards, notebooks and some basic wireless and router products. But SmartPhone devices? Well, apparently we will be associating Gigabyte to these soon. At Computex they had on display a future SmartPhone product named “Einstein”.
I wasn’t able to actually hold this phone, and who knows what stage of development the device is in, but the specs list is certainly impressive.
Gigabyte Einstein Specs:
- Windows Mobile 5.0 OS (newest)
- 416MHz ARM processor
- 64MB of memory
- Tri-band GSM Communications, GPRS internet radio
- 2.1MP CMOS camera built-in
- 24″ TFT LCD (240 x 320)
- TV and FM radio built in (TV? odd)
- Wireless (assuming 802.11b)
- MP3 Playback
- Mini-SD card slot
With all that crammed into this small looking phone, it’s hard to tell where they’re stuffing all the internals and where there’s room for a battery!

My apologies that the pictures don’t give away much as to the look and feel of this phone, but it was behind a glass case and I wasn’t allowed to actually touch and hold it, we’ll try and get in touch with our contacts at Gigabyte and get further information on release dates and where Gigabyte plans to release this phone, which is likely Asia as that’s where they’re pushing pretty hard their other consumer products such as notebooks (although they did recently release a couple of notebooks in the U.S.).
