Last week, Danger, the maker of the long overdue entry into the PDA/cell phone market, gained FCC approval to begin selling the device in the US. The product was initially due out last fall, but has pushed back and now expects to ship devices late this Spring. The Hiptop boasts a flip open design that reveals a mini keypad, great for using the AOL IM software that comes with each device. Early indications are that service will be provided initially by VoiceStream and potentially by Cingular and others later. The MSRP looks to be near the $200 price point, making it one of the most affordable integrated PDA’s soon to be on the market.
