UK site PC Pro has posted details of the Zire 31 and Zire 72, including a picture of the latter well ahead of what palmOne would like.
First up, the Zire 72 is at the top of the Zire range and is a combination of the business-oriented T2 and the Zire 71. It has Bluetooth wireless connectivity built-in and caches a list of known and trusted devices at system level as well as having real-time scanning for other available Bluetooth devices.
Bluetooth is very much key to the 72. It boasts a 1.2megapixel camera for capturing video and stills. The benefit of the larger CMOS sensor is more relevant to making the digital zoom useful rather than increasing picture quality per se. And with the MMS building app, you can send picture messages to mobiles and other devices (that have both Bluetooth and MMS capabilities).
Developed in response to Zire customer requests it features more memory (16MB), a 160×160 colour screen and a zippy 200MHz Intel chip.
Also new is improved throughput for data from the SD memory slot, making running applications or video off an SD card much smoother.
