Two weeks ago we brought you news of the world’s first wireless card tournament. Well, the results are in, prizes have been handed out and DreamQuest hails the event as a success. Do you agree?
“Our first-ever wireless card game tournament was a lot of fun and a success at demonstrating the excitement of wireless gaming,” said Christopher Williamson, DreamQuest Software’s president. “The mixture of devices, locations, and backgrounds of the players was remarkable. Now that DreamQuest Software has proven online wireless gaming is more than an idea, but a reality, we hope to improve our games and expand to even more devices in the coming months.”
It turns out though, only 24 of the registrants took part in the tournament. Sheesh, had I known the odds, I definitely would have taken a crack at the grand prize, a Nokia 9290. 24 doesn’t sound like a lot of players, but I guess the win is that the model was proven to work under a small load.
I also would like to give DreamQuest credit for trying something new. Mobility is the name of the game and being able to compete in games via wireless connection might be the next big thing. You can pick up their card games for Pocket PC’s, Palm OS and Symbian devices. Click here to learn more.
