Facebook Updates Messenger App for iOS

Facebook has updated its Messenger app for iOS, adding new stickers to the platform.

Stickers are essentially emoticons which users can send to friends they are chatting with to portray different emotions and scenarios without the use of actual words. Facebook will begin rolling out the sticker feature to its iOS users in the coming weeks. Android users already have the sticker functionality.

The stickers have been available on Facebook’s general iOS app since last month, but the company is just now adding the feature to the Messenger app. The Messenger app also now allows users to delete messages from their inbox with a quick finger swipe.

Facebook Messenger is available as a free download in Apple’s App Store. It requires iOS 5.0 or later.
