Specifications and an image of what will apparently be Motorola’s third Android-powered smartphone have leaked out.
This device will supposedly have much in common with the Motorola Cliq, but with an unusual design. Unconfirmed reports say the Motorola Motus will have a physical keyboard, but won’t be a slider or clamshell. Instead, will have a reverse flip keyboard, so that when this model is closed it’s keyboard is on the back.
The specification list that has leaked out shows that this smartphone will have a 3.1-inch HVGA (320 x 480) touchscreen, and run Android 1.5 with Motorola’s Blur software that gives easy access to social-networking services like Facebook and Twitter.
It’s not clear what wireless carrier will offer the Motorola Motus, as it will have support for both AT&T’s and T-Mobile’s 3G networks. Verizon and Sprint are apparently out of the running, though.
More Details on the Motorola Motus
The Motus will allegedly be based on a 528 MHz processor from Qualcomm, and have 256 MB of RAM.
It will supposedly have a 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a GPS receiver.
According to a timetable that leaked out of Motorola, this smartphone is going to be released in the first quarter of 2010.
