Motorola Moto X Phone AdBack when the rumors first started flying about the Moto X Phone, one of its prominent supposed features was that it would have customizable hardware. Now, the first official ad for the phone from Motorola has hit the web and it appears that the rumors are indeed true.

The ad, which can be seen here (click to enlarge), is seemingly meant to run tomorrow, as it references Independence Day, but thanks to AdAge, we’re seeing it a day early. It says that the company intends to introduce a phone that will be “the first smartphone that you can design yourself.”

How far this ability to customize the hardware will stretch is currently unknown, though previous leaks have referenced a version of the phone that has a 720p display, a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The phone is also expected to be available on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon’s networks, if recent FCC filings and configuration files are any indication.
