About a year ago, Microsoft started touting their new Smart Personal Objects Technology or SPOT. SPOT products transmit data over FM radio waves to user devices such as watches. Well, we’ve started another new site with SPOT as the focus.
When Andrew and I first saw the watches from Fossil, Citizen and others, we were hooked. Sure we’re geeks, we didn’t even ask how much…we just knew we needed to have one. So, we left last year’s CES with the plan of starting up SPOTstop.com, but never did as delay after delay plauged the launch of the service.
Well…one year later, Microsoft will make it real. Beta tests are underway now and the official launch of the service will come January 8th at the 2004 CES in Las Vegas. We’ll be there to cover the event for the PDA, SPOT and Notebook sites. Anyway, I doubt anyone will be buying any SPOT products that doesn’t already own a PDA or notebook. So, if you’re interested in learning more about this technology, we welcome your visit to either read the latest news or participate in our fourms.
Oh…and stay tuned…we’ll be launching two more sites by February next year…
