SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Nov 29 (Reuters) – Handspring Inc. (NasdaqNM:HAND – news) Chief Executive Donna Dubinsky on Thursday reaffirmed earlier guidance that the maker of handheld wireless devicesexpects to become profitable in the second quarter of the 2002 fiscal year. “I believe we are operating toward that goal and that we understand how to get there,” Dubinsky said at the Credit Suisse First Boston Technology Conference here. Dubinsky said the company has become more efficient through cutting costs and was encouraged by many of its new products coming on the market. Its upcoming Treo 180, which is due out in January, is a combination phone and personal digital assistant that has attracted a lot of buzz at trade shows.
