UPDATE 5/17/02

As expected the Treo was pulled from the CompuSmart site. It had claimed availability May 29th. Handspring has confirmed a new device to be released prior to the end of their quarter which is in June.
According to some Canadian retailer, the new Handspring we mentioned a few weeks ago, is being dubbed the Treo 90. The nomenclature seems a bit odd, considering this latest effort will not have voice capabilities. It seems to be more like a color version of Palm’s i705.

The rumored specs are as follows:
– 12 bit color display
– SD slot, no springboard
– 33 MHz processor
– 16MB internal RAM
– 4.2″ x 2.8″ x 0.7″ and weighs 4 ounces
– wireless connection

This whole leak seems a little odd, considering CompuSmart is claiming delivery in 13 days. Don’t be surprised to see this product ripped from their website quickly. It would be nice to see the SD though instead of the proprietary springboard slot. Especially since the other Treos have no expansion at all.
