HP’s iPAQ hw6500 Mobile Messenger has gained FCC approval to be sold in the US. While approval doesn’t always mean a US release, HP has every intention of bringing the hw6500 to market on the Cingular network very soon. Current rumors point to April, but the confidentiality agreement on the FCC site is set to expire on June 30th, so the release could come a little later than rumored.

The FCC posted a few pictures of the hw6500 in torturesque devices.
