HP has posted on its support website ROM updates for the iPAQ h2210/h2215 and the iPAQ h1940/h1945. These fix various bugs and add a few enhancements.

iPAQ h2200 Series

iPAQ h2200 Series Among other changes, the h2200 series ROM update corrects a Sleep Mode SD power drain and updates the Bluetooth driver to resolve a lockup problem. It also adds support for the Extended Battery.

It can be found on HP’s web site

iPAQ h1940 Models

In addition to fixing the same Bluetooth lockup issue the h2200 models suffer from, the h1940/h1945 ROM update corrects an SD Card initialization problem.

This ROM update also makes a long list of other improvements, such as adding Wireless Protected Access and alarms and meeting reminders will now use high-quality MIDI playback.

What’s a ROM Update?

The ROM is where the operating system and built-in applications are stored. Changes made to the files in ROM are permanent and will survive the device undergoing a hard reset.

Updating the ROM will erase everything that’s on the handheld, including the contents of the File Store.

Thanks to Pocket PC Thoughts for the tips.
