HP Re-releases Audio Driver Update for iPAQ hx4700 Series

A software update that fixes a couple of small bugs in the iPaq hx4700 series has returned to the HP web site.

This update was released last month, but was withdrawn a few days later after a driver installation problem cropped up in some languages. A new version without this bug is now available.

According to HP, this update will ensure that no speaker damage results from third-party audio applications that generate a very high-volume audio signal.

Also, it fixes a bug that causes the Microphone Automatic Gain Control (AGC) setting to not be saved after a power cycle.

HP iPAQ hx4705 This is not a ROM update, so installing it won’t erase everything on the device.

The HP iPAQ Pocket PC hx4700 Series Audio Driver Update can be found on HP’s web site. It is available free of charge.

It is for all devices in the hx4700 series.

Thanks to Pocket PC Thoughts for the tip.
