“A man walks into a bar holding a HP smartphone and…”

While this might sound like the beginning of a joke, it’s really how the world is getting its initial look at HP’s first device running Windows Mobile for Smartphone.

This company has released Pocket PCs like the hw6500 series that some describe as smartphones, but this would be HP’s first model running an operating system specifically designed for smartphones.

A Quick Look at the HP rw4500

According to a report on Howard Forums, this device, named the rw4500, will have a 240-by-320-pixel (QVGA) screen.

It will also supposedly have WiFi, Bluetooth 1.2, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. It will include a miniSD slot under the battery.

Unfortunately, other details on this smartphone — such as its processor speed and amount of built-in memory — are unknown.

The rw4500 prototype that is the source of this rumor had the T-Mobile brand on it.

At this point, it is not known when, or if, this model will be released, or what it will cost.
