HTC Excalibur May Be Coming to Canada

There’s strong evidence that Rogers Canada is planning to offer a Windows Mobile Smartphone with a built-in keyboard that was developed by HTC.

This model, code-named Excalibur, has not yet been officially anounced by Rogers, but a product manual (pdf) for it now appears on this carrier’s web site.

It will apparently be called the S621 by Rogers. HTC itself offers a version of this smartphone, which it styles the S620. T-Mobile USA also offers the Excalibur, but calls it the Dash.

It is not known at this time when Rogers Canada will start offering the S621, or what it will cost.

More Details on HTC S620/HTC Excalibur

This device uses a design that is becoming increasingly popular: a slim tablet shape with a QWERTY keyboard below the screen.

It includes a 320-by-240-pixel display that is in landscape mode by default.

The S620 runs Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphone 200 MHz OMAP850 processor from TI, 64 MB of RAM, and 128 MB of ROM.

This is a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE device. In addition, the S620/Excalibur offers both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It does not, however, have any form of 3G cellular-wireless networking.

More information on this smartphone can be found on HTC’s web site.
