The size of the largest smartphones screens keeps creeping up, and HTC has been leading the charge. This company is now apparently working on a handset with its biggest display yet: 4.5-inches.
Details on this model, the HTC Holiday, have leaked out recently, and it’s supposedly going to be well supplied with cutting edge features. The most obvious of these will be its large qHD (960 x 540) touchscreen. Big displays like this one will make many tasks easier, such as surfing the Web or watching video, but inevitably increase the overall size of the unit.
This device will reportedly run Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread), the latest version of Google’s operating system for smartphones. This will run on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor from Qualcomm, with 1GB of RAM.
Aside from its 8-megapixel camera, most of the other details of the Holiday remain unknown. There’s no word yet on amount of internal memory, for example.
This HTC model is supposedly headed for AT&T, and there have been hints that it might support this carrier’s upcoming 4G LTE network. Its other wireless capabilities have not yet leaked out.
It’s also not known yet when the launch of the HTC Holiday is going to be. The price is also a mystery, though this will surely be near the high end of the scale.
