While the heavily-rumored fingerprint scanner was supposed to be a unique feature for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5S, it appears that Apple’s flagship may not be the only top-tier handset to offer such functionality.
HTC’s upcoming phablet, the HTC One Max, is expected to incorporate an embedded fingerprint scanner as well. On Wednesday, newly leaked images detailing the HTC One Max seemed to back up earlier rumors by showcasing the device with allowances for a fingerprint scanner. The images were published by an ePrice forum member, depicting a cutout on the back of the HTC device where the scanner could be placed, along with an image of the phablet’s software menu, which includes a fingerprint icon.
In addition to a fingerprint scanner, the HTC One Max will reportedly feature a 5.9-inch full HD display, a quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 3,300mAh battery, and a 4-megapixel “UltraPixel” rear-facing camera. The device is rumored to run on Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie), a version of the OS that has yet to even be announced. Additional images from the leak are listed below.
