We first reported about the HTC One X rumored to be launched for Sprint under a different moniker, the HTC Jewel. An unnamed “internal source” at Sprint is now saying that this Android smartphone may be launching under the name “HTC Jet” instead.
The leaked specs of the HTC Jet show that the handset will feature a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 processor, a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 SLCD display, 1GB RAM, NFC, Gorilla Glass 2 and a polycarbonate unibody, all similar to the One X which will debut running Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
The source is also saying that the next HTC flagship phone is set to become one of Sprint’s first LTE handsets on June 10.
When it launches, the HTC One X will be exclusive to AT&T, so the rumor of Sprint releasing a similar phone under a different moniker may not be surprising. AT&T’s exclusivity with the HTC One X might last for only a few months, so it’s possible for other carriers to be rumored in receiving the device or something very similar to it.
