HTC is supposedly getting ready to raise the bar in smartphone cameras — a video promo for a handset with a 16-megapixel camera has leaked out. This device would have a higher resolution camera than any phone available today.
The leaked video also reveals another significant detail about this upcoming HTC device: it’s going to run Microsoft Windows Phone. The buttons on its front — specifically the Windows button — make that clear.
Aside from these details, little else about this model is revealed in the video. Screen size and resolution, processor speed, release timeframe, and price all remain a mystery.
A Version of the HTC Desire S?
The device in the leaked promo bears a strong resemblance to the HTC Desire S, an Android OS model that was announced back in February. If the upcoming Windows phone has more than just a similar shape, and also has many of the same specifications as the Desire S, then it will sport a 3.7-inch WVGA (800 x 480) touchscreen, VGA front-facing camera, and a unibody chassis.
