Earlier this month, Apple filed a lawsuit against HTC, accusing the rival smartphone maker of infringing on some of its patents. Today, HTC released a response.
This came in the form of a statement from Peter Chou, the head of HTC:
“HTC disagrees with Apple’s actions and will fully defend itself. HTC strongly advocates intellectual property protection and will continue to respect other innovators and their technologies as we have always done, but we will continue to embrace competition through our own innovation as a healthy way for consumers to get the best mobile experience possible.”
Apple has accused this company of infringing on 20 patents related to the user interface, underlying architecture, and hardware for mobile phones.
This lawsuit is still in its very early stages, and will be played out in the coming months and years.
