HTC has announced its first smartphone to integrate Beats audio technology, dubbed the Sensation XE. This Android model is also going to boast a very fast dual-core processor and a powerful battery.
Just over a month ago the Taiwanese mobile phone maker bought a 51% stake in Beats Electronics, with the goal of bringing high performance sound to HTC phones. The Sensation XE will utilize Beats Audio to enhance the sound experience of the handset, claims the manufacturer.
The smartphone will also come with a pair of custom Beats by Dr. Dre headphones. The handset will detect the headphones, once plugged-in, causing the device to switch to a Beats sound profile. The headphones will also feature a remote control to play, pause and skip tracks, as well as answer and end calls. The technology is meant to deliver fuller bass, better vocals and a higher quality of range, according to HTC.
Much More than Music
The Sensation XE will pack a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, an upgrade from the Sensation 4G‘s 1.2GHz dual-core chipset, and will feature a 1730mAh battery. The Android Gingerbread-based handset will sport a 4.3-inch touchscreen, an 8MP camera, a front-facing VGA shooter and 1GB of user-accessible storage with a microSD slot expandable to 32GB. In addition the device will rock some new red design accents to complement the Beats logo.
The HTC Sensation XE will launch in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa in late September, though no pricing or availability for North America was mentioned at this time.
