Huawei has just announced that its Ascend P1 will start rolling out in various countries around the world next month. The P1 is a slim Android-based model that Huawei considers an important step in becoming a significant player in the global handset market.
The smartphone will ship out to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Australia in May, while heading to Latin America in July, and Europe over the summer. There are no reports about the availability of the phone in the U.S., however.
The Ascend P1 will feature a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 processor and measure 7.69mm thin and 64.8 mm long, providing a very comfortable grip. It will also sport a 4.3-inch super AMOLED 960 x 540 Touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass. Other features are going to include an 8MP rear-facing camera and Dolby Mobile 3.0 + 5.1 surround sound technology that hopes to provides a home theater experience in the palm of the hand.
