Motorola might be thinking old-school with its design for the Droid 5, as recent leaked images appear to detail the handset with a full side-sliding QWERTY keyboard. The news comes from a user a on the Chinese social networking site Sina Weibo, who posted the photos of the purported device.
The handset seen in the images looks similar to the Droid 4, which makes sense considering Motorola has yet to stray too far away from the original Droid design. The Droid 5 will reportedly offer a display measuring between 4.3 and 4.5 inches diagonally, and the handset will also supposedly offer both water and dust resistances. Other features include NFC, wireless charging support, and a laser-cut five row keyboard (as depicted in the leaked images).
There have yet to be any rumors regarding the Droid 5’s release date or pricing — or what carriers will offer the the device — but given that in-the-wild photos are already surfacing, it should only be a matter of time before more details come to light.
