At the 3GSM World Congress this week, Handango introduced a version of InHand, its device-resident download client, for Windows Mobile-based smart phones.
InHand allows the user to install and purchase software, games, themes and ringtones directly off the Handango web site with their smart phone, without having to go though a desktop or laptop for installation.
It displays details about each application, including name, a short description, a screenshot, and the price.
Users can install InHand themselves off the Handango web site, but the handheld software store is primarily marketing InHand to wireless carriers, who can license it for pre-installation on all their products.
The company claims that InHand can substantially increase the number of third-party applications smart phone owners make use of.
Handango released a version of InHand for Symbian devices running the UIQ interface last fall.
