Two national retailers — Target and Radio Shack — are having a sale on Apple smartphones that reduces the prices by $50. This is a somewhat unusual move, as the iPhone is rarely available for much less than the standard price.
The iPhone 4S is now available for $150 with a two-year contract, while the iPhone 4 is $50 with contract. These prices are available only in Target and Radio Shack stores, not on their web sites. Buyers have a choice of AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint versions.
These deals will be available until June 30, giving shoppers several weeks to take advantage of them.
New Management, New Policies
In the days when Steve Jobs ran Apple, companies were not allowed to discount the price of this company’s smartphones, as Jobs believed this made the device seem to be worth less. With Tim Cook at the helm now, clearly different policies are in place.
