A picture of the ATIV Odyssey was leaked earlier today on the Evleaks Twitter account, the same account that was responsible for leaking the first images of the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 handsets. When Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer revealed the device at the Windows Phone 8 launch event, he mentioned that it would be a Verizon Wireless-exclusive handset and, indeed, the phone appears to have Verizon branding in the leaked image.
In terms of specs, PhoneArena believes the ATIV Odyssey to be a carrier-specific version of the Samsung ATIV S (another Windows Phone 8 smartphone), powered by a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Plus dual-core processor and sporting a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display. Other rumored specs include 1 GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and LTE connectivity. Though PhoneArena makes no mention of it in its spec listing, it appears that the Odyssey may also have expandable storage via a microSD card slot, which can be seen on the left side of the device in the image.
There’s no information yet on pricing or availability of the ATIV Odyssey, but Microsoft has said that the smartphone will be available by the end of December.
